The Opportunity
WONDER Foundation is at an exciting inflection point. We empower women and girls through education, and our donor community is passionate and loyal. We are looking for a sophisticated, self-starting Philanthropy Manager to lead our Major Giving strategy.
This isn't about high-volume cold calling; it’s about intentional stewardship and strategic growth. You will manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ensuring they feel deeply connected to our mission while identifying new champions to join our journey.
Your Core Mission
To cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major donors to meet annual income targets and build a sustainable pipeline for WONDER’s long-term growth. Additionally, you will oversee WONDER’s legacy strategy as a secondary, longer-term objective to secure the foundation’s future.
Responsibilities
Major Giving & Stewardship
· Portfolio Management: Develop, implement, and manage the Major Donor programme creating tailored fundraising strategies, delivering personalised stewardship to donors, including reporting on impact to keep them engaged.
· Prospect Research: Identifying and approaching new HNWIs and DAFs. To create and deliver new major gift proposals both for solicitation and cultivation of new donors.
· Data Management and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of interactions on a CRM database and reporting on KPIs to senior staff.
· The "Ask": To maximise and grow income from major donors through a clearly defined programme of research, networking, and excellent stewardship. Confidently solicit five- and six-figure gifts, aligning donor passions with WONDER’s core projects.
· Internal Collaboration: working closely with Fundraising and Programmes teams to develop compelling proposals and support major donor engagement, while contributing to campaigns and advocacy to strengthen cross-organisational relationships and support the delivery of Major Gifts fundraising.
Legacy Giving (Future-Proofing WONDER)
While your primary focus is the "here and now" of major gifts, you will also be the architect of WONDER’s future through a refined Legacy Giving strategy.
Requirements
Who You Are
· Experienced Relationship Manager: You have a proven track record in Major Gift fundraising OR you come from a transferable industry where you have navigated the world of HNWIs with confidence.
· A Natural Storyteller: You can translate complex social impact data into a compelling, human-centric "case for support."
· You have the ability to devise and implement long-term cultivation plans.
· Highly Empathetic: You have the emotional intelligence to discuss giving and long-term planning with warmth, tact, and professionalism.
· You have excellent interpersonal skills and native-level or equivalent proficiency in written and spoken English, and the ability to create persuasive, tailored, and professional communications.
· Efficient & Outcome-Focused: As a part-time lead, you are a master of prioritisation, capable of driving high-value results within a 2.5-day week.
